In order to keep the forums running well and to prevent problems, please follow these simple rules for the forums here. If you have any questions or problems, please feel free to contact the JCO Staff.
§1 Purpose - The purpose of Jim Carrey Online Forum is to engage in friendly discussion and sharing our knowledge about one's passion for Jim Carrey, his movies and related topics.
§2 Post Purposefully and on Topic - When posting a new topic, think about how you want to start it. Post in the forum most appropriate for your topic. The administrators and JCO Staff may move topics that are posted in the wrong area. Please also make your subject line reflects the content of your post. Be as specific and brief as possible (e.g., 'Jim Carrey Oscar nominated' is a better title than 'Great news!')
§3 Language - English is the "official" language of Jim Carrey Online Forum. Non-English posts will be deleted.
§4 Discussion / Argument Protocol - Personal attacks on other members are not allowed. Discussions, opinions and debates are welcome, so please keep your posts focused on the ideas you're trying to communicate.
§5 No Duplicate Topics - Spamming is forbidden, you may not post the same message twice on the forums. And the number of seconds a user must wait between posts are 30.
§6 No Duplicate User Accounts - 1 person = 1 account. Or they will be deleted.
§7 Text Formatting - Do not post in excessive bold, italic, colors, underlined, all capitals, large font. Not more than one consecutive sentence is allowed with excessive formatting. Posts in violation will be deleted.
§8 Signatures - These rules exist to make viewing the forum as pleasant as possible to all users. Even though you might think signatures with large pictures look cool, some might find them extremely annoying.
There is a 200 character limit. Maximum font size cannot be larger than normal and should not include more than two colors. Signature images should be at most 500 pixels wide and 150 pixels tall. Keep signature images file size at a minimum should not exceed 75 kb. Please don't think you have to use the whole space, smaller is better. If you have a signature image thats not that size/file size and you don't know how to resize/compress it, just contact TNPihl and he will do it for you.
If you use an animated picture in the signature, it should not be too distractive. Blinking images or images with quick movement are not allowed.
Last but not least, signature images may not be advertisements of any kind including links to private sites.
§9 Quotes - Don't quote the entire message that you're responding to, only the pertinent passage.
§10 Spoilers - If you're about to post any spoiler over anything, please respect the others and put "Spoiler" in the subject of your post. Please warn people or write it in white like this: Spoiler text.
§11 Crediting Sources - When you post news stories from other sources, please do not post the entire story. Instead, write your own summary of the article or short excerpt and a link to the source. Copying full stories is a violation of copyright and is illegal.
Final Note – JCO Staff has the final say, which gives us the power to delete or lock posts, and ban users even if not specifically covered in these guidelines. If you don't like the decision a moderator made you should contact him/her directly to have the problem solved. Do not start public threads criticizing their actions in order to gain sympathy.
Breaking a forum rule will result in a warning, topics and posts may be deleted and/or locked. Multiple infractions may cause a member to be temporarily or permanently banned from Jim Carrey Online Forum.
